Getting FOMO that you're skipping the shore traffic and sticking around the city this Memorial Day Weekend? Don't worry, there are a ton of outdoor events to keep you busy in every neighborhood for the long holiday weekend. Spend some time outside exploring different areas of the city! Here are a few of my top picks!
Parks on Tap at FDR Park - I am always looking for outdoor activities that I can bring the pup to! This week, the dog-friendly, rotating outdoor beer garden, Parks on Tap, will be popping up at FDR Park through Memorial Day! Click here for more information.
Spruce Street Harbor Park and Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest - Spruce Street and Summerfest are just a quick walk up the river from one another. Both are great waterfront spots for the entire family. Walk along the water, grab some food and drinks, take a spin on the only outdoor roller rink in Philly! Don't forget to check out the skyline from the top of the ferris wheel! Click here for more information.
Liberty Flea at Cherry Street Pier - Just a short walk from Summerfest, Liberty Flea at Cherry Street Pier is a collection of Philly Vintage and Artisan Vendors. Grab a bite to eat from one of the food vendors like Birdie's Biscuits or Little Baby's Ice Cream. From jewelry to housewares and homemade foods, there is definitely something for everyone! Click here for more information.
Chinese Lantern Festival - This is the perfect weekend to check out the Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square. The park is lit by lanterns handcrafted by artisans from China using traditional Chinese techniques. This year you can find 29 new lanterns and new interactive features such as a fortune-telling wheel and a glowing dragon tunnel to walk through. The Festival will be in the square through the summer into September. Click here for more information.
NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship - Looking for a little competitive action this weekend? Head to the Linc for the NCAA's Men's Final Four games on Saturday. The semi-final games kick off on at Noon on Saturday between Virginia and Duke, followed by #1 ranked Penn State vs Yale University. The Championship game will take place on Monday, May 27th at 1 PM. Click here for more information and tickets.
