People who missed out on buying in Fishtown early ask me where they should be looking. I tell people to not rule out Port Richmond! For starters, it borders Fishtown and Kensington, which is also a hotspot, sits along the left side of Port Richmond. I also like this neighborhood because families have been living there for generations. I feel the same way about East Passyunk. It truly feels like a neighborhood and everyone knows your name, whether you like it or not.
Not to mention, Port Richmond has a healthy amount of commercial real estate on the right hand side of the neighborhood along 95. Port Richmond is one organic food store away from being the next 'It' neighborhood. *Cough* Trader Joes *Cough*. But if you buy after a store like that comes in, you're buying too late. The best prices are now.
